HOW TO FILL IN YOUR LINES — CENTER YOUR TEXT WITH LEADING SPACES

We stamp exactly what you type, starting where you start it. Each line is 15 characters wide, and text is left-justified by default — if you just type your text, it will start at the left edge of the tag.

To center a line, add spaces at the beginning. Count your text, subtract it from 15, and put half of what is left in front of it. The center of the tag is character 8.

  • 5 characters of text — add 5 spaces in front
  • 9 characters of text — add 3 spaces in front
  • 11 characters of text — add 2 spaces in front

If what is left over is an odd number, one extra space either way still looks centered. Please use ALL CAPS.

The classic US military dog tag set, straight from the US military's own supplier. Two rolled-edge stainless steel tags, custom embossed with up to five lines of your text. Order at the counter and we stamp your set back at HQ, ready for pickup at the shop in a day — at events, we stamp while you wait.

The chains are genuine US military ball chains, made in the USA by Ball Chain Manufacturing of Mount Vernon, New York — the sole manufacturer of dog tag chains for the US military.

What's in the set:

  • 2 stainless steel military dog tags with custom embossing
  • 2 genuine military stainless ball chains (long and short) with connectors
  • 2 silicone silencers

Note: a silencer fits over the edge of the tag and can cover part of the outer text — worth knowing when you plan your lines.
