KEEP IT QUIET. KEEP A SPARE SET.
A silencer earns its name: the black silicone edge keeps your two tags from clinking against each other, and it takes the everyday knocks so the steel underneath doesn't have to. It is also a wear part. Silicone stretches, it can tear at the hole, and now and then one just walks off - and a set of tags with one bare edge lets everybody in the room know it.
This is the replacement set: two black silencers, enough to dress a full two-tag set or two single tags. To fit one, stretch it over the tag and work it around the edges until it seats - no tools, about a minute a tag.
One bench note: a fitted silencer hugs the tag's edge and can cover the outer ends of your top and bottom lines. Worth keeping in mind when you fill in the order form - leave the edge characters a little breathing room if your lines run long.
